Bonkers Paddleboarding Club
BonkSUP Club - Take your Paddleboarding to the Next Level
The club is not for beginners. Everyone looking to join club will need to do a lesson, or a course of lessons, with Alex first. If you already paddle, this can be an improver, or an advanced lesson - always plenty to learn, improve and coach. We cover safety on the lessons, and introduce the systems of how we do things at the centre. Club is fun and relaxed, but we do need to know that everyone has covered these safety briefings previously and that they can paddle.
When you are ready for Club, after your tuition sessions, liaise with Kim and she can sort out your membership
You don't need to own board or gear (but great if you do, bring it) , we have over 30 boards to choose from. In fact, that's something great about Club - you can try ANY of our boards. Stick with something you're comfortable with, or try something new.
We now have plenty of touring boards too, all included in the club price. O'Shea GTS, GTX, GTE, GT, Starboard Tourer, Tiki Ventures and more.
If you have your own board - that' s awesome
IMPORTANT - we do fun stuff - its not too 'sporty'. Yes, we are SUP specialists and like to see everyone paddling well, but its as much about the social, and enjoying being outdoors, and the tea.
Club session including use of board and equipment.......... £10 (that's cheaper than Hire only at other centres)
Club session using your own board and equipment............£5
Don't forget we have our own riverside parking, hot showers, best launch pontoon on the best bit of river - Kim has always got the kettle on - and great company.
Club is relaxed and friendly. There is no 'tuition' - BUT we all learn all the time, and with so many of the club becoming instructor qualified - there's always someone who you can chat to about techniques.
Sundays - the time will vary, and all club members will be notified of the club time each week - it is usually set up from 11am - paddling from 11.30am
You can stay on the water as long as you like, but as a group, its usually about an hour and a half, coming off for tea (or landing at the pub) around 1.30pm.
hopefully you can already tell that its a great relaxed session ;0)
Most sessions run from the centre in Pershore. With such a great patch of river, we can go up to Wyre Weir, in the summer we can go further up to the Anchor at Wyre Piddle, or we can go down below the Pershore weir to Pershore Bridges.
We say you need to be able to paddle, and there's 'no tuition', BUT Alex will always nag (coach) you nicely if your paddle isn't vertical enough, and there's usually a tip or trick of the week, all helping your paddling.

Who comes to club
There are people of all abilities, and everyone gets on well and are lovely people. It's relaxed, friendly and fun. The instructors have all the safety stuff covered in the background - and set it all up so everyone had the best experience based on the conditions and the group.
Not all sessions will be right for all people, and Kim reserves the right to invite people according to their ability, or as appropriate to the activities we are running, so each session might not be available to everyone.
